our big personality

Here are a couple of shots from two different visits with friends. This first is from a lunch out with our friend Barbara. Kind of haunting how much Dalia looks like she knows EVERYTHING. It's cool to start to see who she is now. Yesterday we went to visit Julie and Leo and she had fun helping Leo pose for the camera. I think Leo had had enough of little girls pushing him around for one day (his cousin Hannah was over too).

remote/phone

Dalia is absolutely beside herself with this new toy she found. It's an old remote that we don't use. She gets so excited when she sees the phone or the remote and knows she can't play with them. I think she may not know the difference between the two yet. We don't watch enough television around her for her to know what it does yet. She just knows it is one of our toys.

almost...

CRAWLIN'! Here's a video of her doing that rocking thing that everyone says is right before they take off. She even hops a little, which is how she's working it out. She often just flops on her belly and is learning to pull herself along with her buff ass little arms. Even though she is fully adept at rolling over and sitting up, she still just starts fussing when she flops on her belly. Does anyone like tummy time?

Visitors

Jonica and Avery came over - finally Avery got to meet Dalia. Jonica is fond of telling Avery that Mark and Juli were the first folks to ever babysit the little guy when he was just a few months old. Anyway, it's super cool to see him hang with Dalia. We had a great time.

Then, Juli's uncle Rob came to town again. It looks as though Dalia's stranger anxiety is gone for the time being. Thank goodness for that! Maybe she just likes posing for the camera so much, she's realized that letting others hold her is a sure way to get a photo shoot.

Mealtime transformed!

Mealtimes have finally gotten fun. We got Dalia a high chair - actually, it's a space saver high chair that straps into a regular chair, which is great for our tiny little dining room. She LOVES it. Here are a few shots from dinner and lunch. She is a crack up with the camera now. When she sees it, she stops what she is doing and smiles. It's GREAT!

wiping her mouth - seriously folks

She has discovered teeth - perhaps because she is starting to grow some herself - and loves grabbing mine.

Dinner with Mrs. Nevarez

So, we finally made it over to Thom and Steph's for dinner with Dalia. She did great being out and Aunt Steph let her play with the remote, which was off limits at home until then. We've found an unused remote that she thinks is about the greatest thing ever now.

our new favorite outing

You can't believe the attention Dalia gets at the grocery store. We go to Trader Joe's every week now in the morning when it's quiet. She loves riding in the cart now. We got her this paranoid mother shop and play mat to keep some of the germs off, though it's pretty easy to chew on the side of the cart, as I soon found out. So she was being doted on by all the TJ's employees and I thought, what a great picture. Who takes pictures in the grocery store?
