Life is Good

Dalia got her first tattoo last week.Okay, so it was a rub on tattoo. My dad (Pops) is convinced she'll want one for real now someday. Is that so bad? Anyway, she really thought she was cool so I had to post a photo.

Also, I know it's way late, but here are a few great shots from Father's Day. It was a super mellow day. Mark went for a run in Forest Park (his favorite spot in town) and then we went to the park. We had my folks over for dinner so Dalia and I could celebrate Pops as well.

These are just some other fun photos of Dalia (since, as usual these days, I'm not posting too often).

The Coast

We had a wonderful time over our anniversary weekend exploring the coast with Dalia. We couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate than with our wonderful little lady. She is truly a gift and reminder each day what our hard work, friendship and love has provided us with.

Thought I better post...

We are off for a weekend at the coast to celebrate Mark and Juli's 10 year wedding anniversary. Holy Moly! We agree we like each other more now.Probably because we are getting to be so much alike in our old age (kidding). Anyway, there'll be lots of photos and video to share, probably, so I thought I'd better post some stuff from this last week.

As usual, we were busy, but managed to have some great leisure time over the weekend. The weekend started with some poolside turkey burgers and Pops. This last photo of me and Dalia is indeed her copping a feel. All I wanted was a photo with my daughter. All she wanted was my "booba".

We enjoyed a hike in Forest Park (Dalia's first time as a walker). She had a great time, but was for some reason in a very very short phase of screaming in sheer terror at every flying bug and tree trunk root.

We also had a great time at a BBQ with Archer and family, but we took no good photos, so you'll just have to take our word for it. She had such a good day, she passed out cold with her Mokie and Kitty.

We went over to play in the pool with Julie, Leo and Francis on one of the hottest days of the week. Everyone else was napping, but we were playing in the water (all photos of Dalia are without clothes so none to post). Dalia proves to be one brave little monkey. Julie set up their pool to include a slide into it. After a few tries holding my hand, she wanted to go it alone. "Dalia own, own." This independence doesn't scare or sadden me. She is usually soon after asking for up and asking for "num num".

Our weekly playdate with Jen, Amelia and Zeke is back, thank God in heaven. We have not been the same without them and really can't enjoy looking at a mug like Zeke's more. We learned how to play with playdough this week. And ate yuuuummmmmyyyyy shortbread cookies (salt is the secret).

Here's a video of Dalia saying one of her favorite phrases ("da da da nnnnooooooo!").
I recently realized that I say it all the time, too...The first video is her acting for the camera. The second is real, because she got sick of me recording her without her getting to see "dee? dee?" means "see."
