More snow

This time we were prepared! Thanks to our neighbor friends, we got these rad hand-me-down rain boots (we have several photos and a video of her running around and dancing naked in them, but we won't post them here). Dalia wanted to "go" so badly this morning she kept bringing me her shoes, walking to the door, knocking on it and saying "go", so we got bundled up and went outside to play for a bit.

This is when I brought her in the house. Needless to say, she was not ready to come in, but it was coooollllddd. Okay, not as cold as it is back east, but cold enough.

Uncle Thom and Aunt Steph

We enjoyed a fairly rare evening with Thom and Steph in celebration of her birthday. Remember when we used to eat together several times a week guys? Thanks for coming over. And for reading to our wiggly girl.

Look familiar?

Dalia got a pillow this weekend. She is now so excited to get in bed and cover up (not to sleep, but to play). She takes her baby and kitty in there and covers them up to. When I was getting ready to post this photo I remembered a similar photo taken about 15 months ago. Time flies.

wedding weekend

Dalia got to be in her first wedding this weekend. And boy was she cute! The bride was pretty great, too. As expected, Dalia cut it up on the dance floor at the reception. Apparently at one point she was surrounded by adults while she got down and grooved.

We also got to hang out with Grammy Karen on a sunny, warm (for us) day at the park Mark spent a lot of time at when he was a kid.

All the Vermeys brothers, sisters and cousins were together this weekend as well. It was so wonderful to be with Aunt Ali and Uncle Jim who showered Dalia with gifts and love; so great to see how much Dalia and Connor love each other already; and so fun and sweet to watch Dalia in the arms of her Aunt Robin and Uncle Scott.

I post this on such a profound and exceptional day, it's hard to not mention. I have a great video of Dalia practicing her Evil Knievel stunts on her radio flyer bike while Obama is giving his speech in the background. I'll try and post tomorrow. I'm amazed at how much television I watched today. By the end of the night I could ask Dalia who the president was and she whispered, "bama". I'm so proud to be an American today.

Thanks for a wonderful weekend, Bay Area family. We love you.

Love

I keep putting off posting some photos of family and friends because I want to say something special about each photos. But let's face it, I'm tired. I don't have it in me. But I do want to thank Oralea for coming here and being just about the greatest auntie to little Dalia. Thanks for playing endlessly with her "boat" and chasing her around the house with her push toy. I actually got to go to a yoga workshop on Friday night and Oralea helped keep Dalia company while I was away. Daddy put her to sleep. It was so fun to hang out with Oralea, Dalia and Julie with her new little Francis.

Also, I just can't get over how much Dalia is in-love with her Pops. Every chance she gets she hugs him. And hearing him rock out on the guitar is no exception.

Also, Grammy is tireless for me and has been for the last 16 months. I don't know what we'd do without her. Yesterday, I got to go teach yoga at the Chiropractic College and Grammy babysat. She tells me that after leading her to the kitchen to have her prepare and feed her lunch, Dalia told Grammy she was "all done" and wanted "out" at which point she climbed up in her arms, put her head on her shoulder and simply fell asleep. No nursing, no rocking, no crying. I'm so glad I didn't listen to all the "helpful" advice that I would have to let her cry before she figured out how to fall asleep without help. BTW, she's been sleeping great (hopefully this doesn't jinx anything).

Some of these photos are just because I'm so damn in-love with her I can hardly stand it. Isn't she soooo cute? We're looking forward to seeing so many of you this weekend on our trip to California for Amanda's wedding.

New words

Dalia is saying lots of new words now, though most of them are hard to understand. This is our new favorite. She is saying "all done" (you can also hear her say "Dada").
