happy spring

we spent the morning walking around the neighborhood with our friends Nancy, Nora and Emma. We got to listen to a story time happening at the gelato place we went to get donuts (Dalia calls them "noduts" and yes she got some). It was such a beautiful morning. The birds seem somehow so happy now and the flowers and trees are blooming. We had a great time. Many more days outside ahead! I do think it's her favorite thing to walk around outside. She says "walk" with such clarity and intention.

I think this will be the best spring ever.

a little bit of Irish

She's more than a little bit of Irish, so we had to celebrate. We got this sweet dress from Amelia that has shamrocks all over it. We got to see our pals Jen, Amelia and Zeke too. This photo of Jen, Amelia, Dalia and Zeke is pretty funny, kinda candid, kinda posed. Zeke's pretty dang cute in all his green. And such a big boy sitting up. It was so nice to have something fun to do on our first day away from Mark. Hope ya'll had a great St. Patty's Day. P.S. One of Dalia's new nicknames is Dizzy Dalia. This video shows why. She loves it. (Notice the baby in the background with two different shoes on, baby legs, an old onesie and yes there is a diaper on under it.)

we miss you!

Day to day

These are some of our favorite new photos of Dalia. She's a real little girly now. So friggin' cute we can't believe our eyes sometimes. Can we say that? We just love her more and more everyday.

This first photo is actually taken at my mom's dental surgeon's office where we were waiting for her to get a tooth extracted. I think Dalia believed everyone was there to see her.
Dalia has started down the road of babies. Her babies, which seem to be multiplying like gremlins, must do everything she does, put on her shoes, dance with her, eat, sit in her high chair (she has just figured out how to snap them in - let's just hope she doesn't figure out how to unsnap anytime soon). She prefers her kitty for sleeping, thankfully as her favorite doll, shown below, cries, laughs and says "mama" when squeezed.
Shoes, anyone?
I was really taking the photo below to show how wackily wonderful Dalia gets to dress because we live in this punk rock town, but the light just made the photos just beautiful. She found this dress downstairs - it's a 3T and too big - but she really wanted to put it on. I wish I could dress more like her.
I don't have any idea how she knows this, I cannot recall anytime since Dalia has been born that I've laid in bed to write in my journal with her looking, but ever since she got her new bed, she takes my journal and pen into her room and sits or lays down to pretend writing in it. She just got her own journal, but we're sticking with crayons for now.
